Matthew was born in England where he first developed his passion for ministry. When he was 18 he felt a calling to do DTS (discipleship training school) with Youth with a Mission.Matthew spent his lecture phase on the mercy ships and outreached to Western Africa. After completing his YWAM training he continued ministry with them working in Northern Ireland, training new students and staff as well as pioneering youth ministry in a small town called Tandragee. He also led several trips the Romania over the course of six years. After YWAM Matthew returned to England where he continued in ministry working with local youth and partnered with others in community outreach. In 2008 he traveled to Cleveland, Ohio where he was a full-time volunteer working at an urban church again following his passion for youth ministry.
Matthew is married to his lovely wife Deborah, whom he met in the mission field in Northern Ireland. Over many years their friendship turned to love and Matthew followed her home to Cleveland. In October 2010, they welcomed their first child Elijah Emerson and are excited to grow their family.
He is very passionate about the Kingdom of God, and seeing people embrace Kingdom living. He loves missions and has a heart for the least, the last and the lost in the world. In his spare time you can find him playing or watching football (soccer). He is excited to be living in East Aurora and coming alongside Youth in the community. He loves meeting and serving people, so please come by his office and say hello. Please note: He can be bribed with sweet and sour chicken.
